Child Safety: Precautions to Take when Playing with Trampoline
Playing with trampoline may be fun for most kids. I won’t deny it’s good for kids’ health too. Still remember Canadian trampoline athletes competing in the Olympics in 2008? How exciting! However, a friend of mine phoned me yesterday, telling me that his daughter was sent to hospital after she jumped off the trampoline and got injured. That raised the safety issue that I feel compelled to discuss here. Here’re several questions you really should ask before letting your kids playing with it:
- Is your kid old enough to access the trampoline and handle some manouveurs?
- Is the trampoline you bought too rigid to absorb the impact of a jumping kid (or adult)?
- Did you place the trampoline far from any sharp or blunt objects that could hurt your kid?

Here’re some more resources for parents with a trampoline in their backyard:
